New Year's Eve, Watch Me Jump!

It's New Year's Eve, the last day of 2008! We went back to the doctor this morning to have Jacob's weight and ears checked. He gained 1/2 a pound, weighing 14 1/2 pounds, which was fine. His ears were clear as well, but if he gets another ear infection, he will have to go see a specialist.

Happy New Year's Eve! Jacob is trying so hard to crawl. He likes to get into everything and can't wait until he can really move around. Watch out Mom and Dad!

Merry Christmas!

Wow! What a busy week we've had! We took Jacob back to the doctor on the 21st, and he had another ear infection. We still go back on the 31st for his weight recheck and to talk with Dr. Collins about his ears. Luckily he was feeling better by Christmas and had a wonderful time with all of our family.

We spent Christmas Eve over at Grandma and Grandpa Carter's house. Jacob got tons of toys, and so did Mom and Dad! I got Rockband and Joey got a Cleveland Browns cornhole game we made him. Jacob loves his new piano that Aunt Tiff bought him.

Merry Christmas! This is Jacob in his new high chair that Santa brought for him! We opened up presents at home and then we headed over to the Bolon's to spend Christmas Day.

Look at Jacob with all of his presents from Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Justin and Jason! He loved all of his presents and wore himself out playing with everything!

Chipper got a new raincoat for Christmas! Doesn't he look cute!

Daddy and Jacob played the drums on Rockband when we got home. What a fun game!

5 Month Dr's Visit

This morning I took Jacob to see Dr. Collins to get his ears rechecked and for his 4 month well-baby visit. We are a month behind on shots due to ear infections and traveling. His ears were clear, thank goodness! He was 25 3/4 inches long and weighed 14 pounds. He dropped in weight a little since his last visit two weeks ago, so we have to go back in two weeks to make sure he is gaining weight properly. His developmental skills are right on track and he has two bottom teeth that are coming in! The Dr. wants us to start feeding him cereal three times a day and a fruit and vegetable plus his formula. Hopefully the little rascal will put on some pounds before his next visit!

He did really well with his shots. He didn't even cry when he got the first one and only cried for about a minute with the second one. Aunt Tiff and Jay baby sat the rest of the day while Mommy went back to work.

1st Tooth!

Last night, Jacob tried to stick my hand in his mouth and bite it, which he often does because everything goes straight to his mouth. I thought I felt something a little sharp, so I looked in his mouth. Sure enough, the top of a little bottom tooth had broken through his gum! He is getting to be such a big boy so fast! It's amazing how time flies.

Who does Jacob look like?

Most people think this is a picture of Jacob when they see it. It is actually Joey when he was around Jacob's age! It is crazy how much they look alike.

Here are a few pictures of Jacob eating his favorite, sweet potatoes.

(Compare this one to the one of Joey, Wow!)

He likes to play in his seat after he finishes eating. He loves toys and likes to be entertained!

Tiff's Graduation

We went to Myrtle Beach this past weekend to see Tiffany graduate from college. She graduated Cum Laude from Coastal Carolina with a degree in psychology. She graduated a semester early and is thinking about going to physician's assistant's school. We are very proud of her.

The sun was really bright, so this was about as good of picture as we were
able to get.

Playin Around

Finally, I think I am caught up to date with the pictures. These are more recent, from last week and this past weekend.

Jacob loves flippin around. He can flip from his tummy to his back and from his back to his tummy.

He is a little Rolly Polly!

This is Jacob and his friend Walker. Walker and Teran came to visit us last weekend. Jacob had so much fun watching Walker play with all the toys at Grandma's house!

Thanksgiving Visit to Ohio

For the week of Thanksgiving Joey, Jacob, myself, Joey's Grandma Silva, and Joey's mom drove up to Ohio. We had a wonderful time visiting family. This was the first time many of the family members had seen Jacob. It was a lot colder than it is in South Carolina, but not as bad as I thought it would be.

On the way up, we traveled until about 10 pm, and stopped to stay at a hotel. This was Jacob in the hotel bed. His first hotel visit! He had his own pack n play that he slept in and did pretty well during the night.

Before we left for Ohio, we went to the doctor to make sure his ears were clear. Thank goodness, they were clear! The doctor recommended feeding him solids to help him sleep better at night. This is Daddy feeding Jacob his one of his first bowls of cereal. He wasn't too interested at first, but he loves to eat like a big boy now! He has also been sleeping much better at night since we started the solids.

This is Jacob and cousin Tyler with Great Grandma Silva. Not too much longer, and they will both be running around, playing, all over the place!

Happy Thanksgiving! Jacob got to watch his first Thanksgiving parade! Looks like he's more interested in trying to find someone who will pick him up! Can we say spoiled?

Four Generations of Bolons:

Jacob, Daddy, Grandpa Bolon, and Great Grandpa Bolon. This was Thanksgiving Day at Aunt Becky's house.

On the way home, we sat in the backseat and had fund reading books. We finished the trip home in one day. Towards the end, Jacob got a little fussy, but did wonderful for an 11 hour trip!

Jacob's 4th Month

The 4th Month (Oct 7th-Nov 7th) was really fun. We went to our first birthday party and gave out candy on Halloween!

Mommy and Daddy bought Jacob a Jumperoo to try and find something that would keep him occupied. He is so ready to be mobile and love sitting and standing up. Already trying to be a big boy.

This is Jacob's cousin Tyler at his One Year Birthday Party. This was the first birthday party that Jacob went to. It was at a park in Augusta, GA. We had lots of fun!

This was Jacob's first trip to Tennessee (Oct 25, 2008). He got to meet a lot of relatives who were so anxious to see him. This is a five generation picture with Jacob, Mommy, Grandma Carter, Great Pappaw Young, and Great Great Mammaw Young.

This is Jacob and Kayla at the Smith Tax Halloween Party. He was a little tiger! (no relation to Clemson or Auburn in case anyone is thinking that! Go Vols!)

This is Jacob and some of his friends from daycare at the Smith Tax Halloween party.

Jacob, Mommy, and Daddy handing out candy on Halloween. Mommy and Daddy were John McCain and Sarah Palin.

Aunt Tiff watched Jacob while Mommy and Daddy worked. This is a picture of Jacob jumping. He really loves his Jumperoo now and he smiles all the time!

Jacob's 3rd Month

The Third Month was a little better. The colic finally subsided, but then he started to get ear infections. He had a constant ear infection for a month straight. They are clearing up now, but he still gets them often.

This is one of the first pictures I took of him smiling. At this age (2 1/2 months), it was really hard to catch him smiling on camera.

Once he discovered his fists, he was completely obsessed with them. He would stare at them nonstop. They were his favorite toy!

Jacob and Anslee watching a Baby Einstein DVD at Anslee and Aubree's house. They loved it!

Jacob's 2nd Month

Jacob's 2nd month was a little rough. He still had colic and his formula was making him very constipated, so most of the time, he was not a happy camper. He started daycare at 6 weeks old when Mommy had to go back to work. He also went on his first beach trip to Myrtle Beach for Labor Day to visit Aunt Tiff. Grandma and Aunt Tina stayed with him at Tiff's house while Mommy and Daddy stayed at a place on the beach. Everyone had a little vacation!

This is one of my favorite pictures of Jacob and Daddy.

(Aug 25, 2008)

This is not Jacob's first bath, but the first one that he actually enjoyed. He did not like baths at first, but now he loves them!

Jacob's 1st Tennesse Game:

TN @ UCLA: We Lost!

Very Bad season for Tennessee. Phil Fulmer is gone and Kiffin is in for next season. Hopefully we will do better next year!

Jacob and Daddy were wore out after a long weekend at the beach and the TN loss. Back to work tomorrow!

Jacob's 1st Month

Here are some events that happened in Jacob's 1st Month.

First Restaurant Visit: Applebee's with Mommy, Grandma Carter and Aunt Tiff (1 month old)

Jacob's First Doctor's Visit:

The following Friday, after Jacob was born, we went to Southside Pediatrics to meet with Dr. Collins. Jacob has lost a little weight, weighing 6 lbs 9 oz, which is common. Everything else looked good!

Jacob's First visit with Friends:

Jacob went to meet his new friend, Anslee Heath. Anslee and her twin sister Aubree, were born 2 days before Jacob.

Jacob's 1 month old pictures (at Home):

Jacob had very bad colic, so he spent most evenings screaming! By one month, he gained 2 pounds, weighing 9 pounds.

Jacob's First Pictures

I just started this blog today, but I wanted to show everyone the wonderful new addition to our family. Jacob Lawerence Bolon was born July 7, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. He was 6 lbs 15 oz and 21.5 inches long. These are some of his first pictures after he was born.
